Optical Subsystems: When we started to develop optical subsystems we again looked to the specs, (SONET) and sought to understand from the customer’s view what was desired.  For instance, with regard to tunable lasers and filters we were told that hot sparing was desirable, but that it had to meet SONET and Telcordia specs.  NOS’s patented products for network monitoring, network restoration and hot sparing meet the needs of this mission unlike any competitor’s products.

Optical Maintenance: When one of the world’s largest network equipment builders came to NOS with the problem that 35% of their RMA’s were related to dirty connectors, NOS listened to them and designed and built the FiberSwiper®, the industry leading connector cleaner and the only one to boast a fully compliant Telcordia GR 2923 test report.

Optical components:  With a facility in CA, NOS believes it is the only company offering quick turn-around for high quality custom manufacturing and products. NOS also believes it is the only company offering only 100% tested products, using NOS patented MicroFiberGeometry (MFG) termination technology that assures the industry’s best intermateability.
